The Gentle Flow 1 class is a 60-minute session ideal for beginners, those returning to yoga after a break, and anyone recovering from injury. For those brand new to yoga, we recommend our Beginner 5-Week Series program, which you can learn more about under our Events and Workshops tab. The Gentle Flow 1 class emphasizes enhancing strength, balance, and joint mobility through carefully selected poses. The slow pace allows students to focus inward, connect with their breath, and stay present. Each pose is tailored to individual needs, ensuring everyone practices at a comfortable level.

Skillful Flow
Yoga for Strong Hips is tailored for students at all levels, whether they aim to build balance and strength in their hip muscles or enhance mobility in this essential area. This class is particularly beneficial for those recovering from hip or pelvic injuries. Through poses that nurture and strengthen the hip and pelvic floor muscles, students are guided according to their individual abilities, with modifications offered to ensure the practice meets them where they are.

Yoga for Strong Hips - All
The Gentle Flow & Guided Meditation class is a 75-minute session suitable for students of all levels. In this class, you’ll practice poses that strengthen the back and spine, incorporating chest openers, arm exercises, and neck stretches to bring a sense of ease and stability to these essential areas for seated meditation. The slow pace encourages inward focus, breath connection, and presence. Each session concludes with a 10-15 minute guided seated meditation, fostering mental clarity and heightened awareness.

Gentle Flow & Meditation - All
Experience "Yoga for the Community" at Yoga by Shiva—a free, all-levels class led by our enthusiastic new teachers. This gentle practice focuses on building foundational skills and synchronizing breath with movement, creating a space for connection and growth within our vibrant community. Each class is taught by different instructors, offering new teachers the opportunity to hone their teaching skills while giving the community a chance to connect with them.

Yoga for the Community - All
Dynamic Flow 2 is a 60-minute session tailored for intermediate students and those familiar with foundational yoga poses. This class emphasizes the synchronization of conscious breathing with dynamic, fluid movement, where controlled breath guides the timing and coordination of each pose, building strength and balance. Starting with sun salutations to safely warm up the body, the class progresses through a series of standing and balancing poses that cultivate strength, inner heat, and control, creating a seamless, smooth flow. Each breath and movement become focal points, encouraging students to stay present throughout the class.

Dynamic Flow 2
The Advanced class offers intermediate students the chance to deepen their yoga practice by exploring more complex poses such as wheel pose, headstand, various arm balances, and more. The class also focuses on building physical stamina and balance by holding certain poses longer. While prior experience with these specific poses isn’t required, a solid foundation in yoga and body awareness is recommended. Each session is centered around specific peak poses, with sequences thoughtfully designed to prepare your body for these challenges and provide insights into mastering them over time. By emphasizing the synchronization of breath and movement, the class cultivates a meditative state and inspires a sense of curiosity about the body’s capabilities.
